When you work on the binding for arched guitar top and the back, a regular router base will tilt and the alignment can be changed, so you may get the channels too deep or too shallow. Now the problem can be fixed by using our Binding Router Jig, mount your router on this jig, it helps you to cut squared channels perfectly.

The router carriage drives your router up and down vertically and smoothly, it follows your guitar body when you cutting the channels, so you can always get perfectly squared binding channels, and fits your bindings correctly.

There are four body support brackets included, they can be adjusted for your guitar body shapes and heights. This set does not include a Body Cradle, so you can build your own custom shape.

The four mounting holes on the carriage fits Bosch Colt Router. Other common laminate routers can be used on this jig too, if your router doesn't fit the mounting holes, then the Router Mounting Template is what you need, it can help you to drill new holes on the router carriage for your router.

Binding Jig.

After years of hand cutting binding channels on carved archtop mandos ,guitars etc. I decided to try and save some time and go electric. The jig is well enough made for the price and is , just as good , probably better , than the one from usa which every one will know , (overpriced and poor Quality control ) I will not buy any tools from that particular scots sounding American joke tool outlet . Overall very pleased . I have set up and used it on an archtop mandolin with a Portugese( Sobel) style neck to body join and with the neck attached was able to quickly rout the channels belly and back leaving only a small channel across the width of the neck heel to cut by hand and a very small amount to trim to full depth where the belly meets the neck. I would recommend this jig to anyone wanting a convenient binding channel solution for instruments with arched plates . I would also recommend doing it by hand as well because with practice its not so much a chore and is satisfying and Quieter and makes less mess to clean up. This jig saves time and would be an absolute breeze if just doing Guitars with gently arching plates .Im glad to now have this jig to use as an option. If you were wondering if to or not to buy this jig just go ahead ,you will be glad you did and the quality will not disappoint.

Great price on a great jig. Fast ship, well packaged. You can spend more money on the other guys but you don’t need to. This is it, for a fraction of the cost.

received and am quite satisifed with the quality. my one minor complaint centers on the template used to mount the router to the the jig. the size of the pin used to center the template is too small. I believe it is 4 mm and requires that I bore out the centering jig to 1/4 inches which is standard for router bits sold in the U.S. aside from that the quality is excellent.

The jig was made nicely. I mounted it to plywood and I’m real happy that I purchased it. I have used it but I’m sure it will work nicely
